Why Become an Umpire?
Umpiring is a fantastic way to stay involved in hockey, develop a deeper understanding of the game, and contribute to the club’s success.
Whether you’re a player looking to expand your skills or someone new to the sport, umpiring offers a rewarding experience.
For Existing Umpires
Please keep the Umpiring Officer updated on your availability via email, text, or phone. This helps us ensure smooth matchday operations and fair coverage for all games.
How We Support Our Umpires
Our Umpiring Officer oversees all aspects of umpiring at the club, including:
- Appointing umpires for home matches when neutral umpires are unavailable.
- Liaising with regional, county and league associations for neutral umpire appointments.
- Organising and promoting umpiring courses.
- Encouraging and managing the development of club umpires.
We also provide access to resources like the FIH Umpire Briefing, which offers valuable guidance for umpires at all levels.
