About the Sessions

Welcome to the Senior Ladies section of Yeovil & Sherborne Hockey Club! Whether you’re a seasoned player or returning to the sport, our club offers an inclusive environment for all skill levels.

With four competitive Ladies teams, we provide opportunities to play league hockey on Saturdays from October to March, as well as sociable summer sessions for those looking to stay active off-season. In addition, we have a fifth ladies ‘development’ squad that offers newcomers, and those returning to the sport, the chance to develop their skills in a friendly environment.

During the season our coached sessions are on Tuesday evenings at the Yeovil Recreation Centre, where you’ll find a supportive community, experienced coaches, and a shared passion for hockey. Join us to develop your skills, enjoy the camaraderie, and be part of a thriving club that welcomes players, coaches, and umpires alike.

Ready to hit the pitch? We’d love to have you on board!

FAQs

What do I need to bring?

Gum Shields and Shin Pads. The Club recommends that all players wear a gum shield and shin pads, for training and playing matches. Other items of protective equipment, such as gloves, can also be worn.

Footwear. While trainers can be worn Astro hockey shoes are recommended because they are specifically designed for use on artificial pitches and provide more grip when changing direction.

Hockey Stick If you’re just staring out and don’t have a stick yet, let us know before attending and we’ll ask our members if you can borrow any spares.

For league games we require your to wear our club’s kit consisting of shirt, shorts/skorts and socks.

How long is a YSHC membership?
