About the Sessions

The Junior Section of Yeovil & Sherborne Hockey Club has been established to provide the best hockey coaching available to excite children about the game, to inspire their passion and to ensure success at all levels.

We welcome all children from the ages of 7-14 regardless of their experience and ability. We will provide opportunities for all of them to reach their potential and enjoy the benefits that this team sport offers in terms of tactical, technical and fitness related skills specific to hockey and general recreational fun.

What do we need to bring?

YSHC is happy to provide sticks for juniors who are being coached.

Gum Shields and Shin Pads.  The Club requires that all Junior players wear a gum shield and shin pads, for training and playing matches.  Other items of protective equipment, such as glove(s), should also be worn.

Footwear.  While trainers can be worn Astro hockey shoes are recommended because they specifically designed for use on artificial pitches and provide more grip when changing direction.

For tournaments we require juniors to wear our club’s shirt, shorts/skorts and socks.
