About the Sessions
Welcome to the Senior Men’s section of Yeovil & Sherborne Hockey Club! Whether you’re a seasoned player, returning to the sport or a hockey newcomer, our club offers an inclusive environment for all skill levels.
With three competitive Mens teams, we provide opportunities to play league hockey on Saturdays from October to March, as well as sociable summer sessions for those looking to stay active off-season.
During the season our coached sessions are on Wednesday evenings at the Yeovil Recreation Centre, where you’ll find a supportive community, experienced coaches, and a shared passion for hockey. Join us to develop your skills, enjoy the camaraderie, and be part of a thriving club that welcomes players, coaches, and umpires alike.

Gum Shields and Shin Pads. The Club recommends that all players wear a gum shield and shin pads, for training and playing matches. Other items of protective equipment, such as gloves, can also be worn.
Footwear. While trainers can be worn Astro hockey shoes are recommended because they are specifically designed for use on artificial pitches and provide more grip when changing direction.
Hockey Stick If you’re just staring out and don’t have a stick yet, let us know before attending and we’ll ask our members if you can borrow any spares.
For league games we require your to wear our club’s kit consisting of shirt, shorts/skorts and socks.
How long is a YSHC membership?
Senior memberships run from 1 August to 31 July.
Joining with a membership gives you full access to enjoy all appropriate club activities.
How do I pay membership or match fees?
All subscriptions and match fees are paid online via TEAMO once registered.
We are a thriving club which runs 5 Ladies teams, 3 Men’s teams and a successful Junior section, new players are always welcome!
We play from October through to April with league hockey on Saturdays for senior teams and junior tournaments on Sundays. We also have hockey on throughout the summer months aimed at more sociable sessions rather than league games.
